On the results of the year 2017 more than 1 060 tons of cargo was transferred by Aurum Group railroad freight cars that was 29,3% more than in 2016, as reported by Andrey Zhariy, the CEO of Aurum Group.
According to Andrey Zhariy, there is an increase in volume of transferred cargo due to the growth of the private railroad car fleet.
“During 2017 Aurum Group increased a number of private cars by 120 including 67 new gondola cars, which were built by railcar building enterprises of Ukraine” – reported the CEO of Aurum Group. – Thus, on 1 January 2018 private railroad car fleet of Aurum Group accounts for 470 cars.”
The most popular transferred cargo by railroad freight cars in 2017 were metal-roll, clay, breakstone, ore, coal, limestone, charred coal and quartzite.
Analyzing the geography of freight flow of customers of the group, Andrey Zhariy outlined Top 5 regions of Ukraine, which generated the maximum freight flow last year:
- Dnipropetrovsk region – load nearly 40%
- Donetsk region – load nearly 15%
- Zaporizhzhya region – load nearly 10%
- Khmelnytsk region – load nearly 10%
- Odesa region – load nearly 5%
All other regions in total had a load of nearly 20%.
Also, according to the CEO of Aurum Group, the freight turnover of railcar rental-enterprises indicates that 80% of cargo was transferred within the country and 20% was exported.
